Hey There Delilah

We went on a field trip last week to Shephelah...i.e. the low lands. It was rainy all day. So fun! The wet hair, muddy shoes, and shared umbrellas made this trip memorable. We explored underground caves, sang in ancient catacombs, experimented with slingshots. Oh and I tweeted that night saying: Got locked inside bathroom stall in an Israeli National Park. I scaled the wall & hopped into a stall next door #reasonsigottothegymonceamonth HAHAHA

Remember Samson? These rolling hills are Delilah's turf! Cool, huh?

Later in the week, we had Arab Culture Night. What a treat!! We started out learning a bit about Islamic culture. Two reps from the local mosques came and read from the Quran and sang the Call to Prayer. It was interesting to listen closely because we hear the Call to Prayer several times a day, as it is projected throughout the city. Many Muslims are devout. I respect the ones who are so committed. Then came the party time. We had a great meal with lots of authentic Arabic food. A lot of the food seemed familiar to me just from our time in Jordan. After, we danced!!! We learned a traditional Arabic dance. A few of the local teens taught us. We had a blast. We dubbed the night Prom 2012 and danced the night away. Lol.

So lucky to be living this life!!!!!! Happy girl over here in the Middle East. :)
